easy to change a graphics card in laptops? - Page 2

Anyone have suggestions on a laptop for 850$ or below that i could possibly get?

For 850 dollars or less, I'd be looking at these, if you want to play any games on a laptop:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834246324 -- I have one of these. Battery life is pretty amazing thanks to Optimus switchable graphics. I get 7-8 hours of basic web browsing out of it with a custom power profile, on one charge of the stock battery.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834215254 -- I have a similar Acer to this, but about two generations older, and I have been very pleased with it. The 7670M is faster than the 555M, but the higher native resolution can be a downside in some cases when gaming. Still, I would lean toward this one if batter life isn't a prime concern.

Note that pretty much any laptop you get in this range is going to be loaded with crapware, and should be given a clean OS install the moment you verify it works...and they aren't going to come with any OS discs.

I figure a gaming laptop will be pointless in a few years.. because games will be harder in graphics and youll need something better to play the "next best game" ... then youll be like OHHHH shhhhoottt because you cant run it, unlike a desktop were you can just upgrade as time goes on and new and better games come out that require more.

good luck. thumb.gif

But at least it is usable for a few years? I'd rather have a laptop that can game than one that cannot. You certainly pay a premium for a laptop with a decent GPU, but for those with the money to do so, why not?
