Being that he only has the one monitor with lower resolution, he doesn't need all the vram. plus since he wants to fold, the 570 would be the way to go for sure. AMD cards suck ass at folding. I got rid of my AMD card for this very reason because i didn't know better to begin with. Had i known AMD cards were so slow at it I would have never got one.

While I don't disagree that AMD cards are bad at folding this is because of a lack of support from Stanford rather then anything AMD has done.

The 6970 overall is still faster then the 570 by a smidge in gaming.
