Well this will be one of the very few build logs where the start pictures will look identical to the finish project. I had just completed building an ITX form factor HTPC however i was very dissapointed at the end results, so since I had a broken marantz audio receiver laying around which I loved the classic front look it had, I decided to rebuild it. Here is how it turned out.
Internals:
A8-3870k APU
A75M-ITX motherboard
FSP220-60LE PSU

Dismantling the receiver:
Lots and Lots of wire cutting

Most of the PCBs dismantled and the back plate.

All the dismantled parts
Stealing parts from my recently completed HTPC

All internals secured on a piece of 10 X 10 " acrylic
Undoing latching power switch that comes with the receiver to make it a momentary switch for power on/off and attaching to 2 pin header for motherboard
Dismantling the old bulb lighting that came with the receiver that powered the backlit front panel and assembling new SMD5050 LED strips. top row is white, bottom and left are blue LEDs

Finished LEDs rows
And putting it all together
