Gaming keypad question

Thread Starter
I'm trying to find a gaming keypad that offers two features:
1) I can program it with custom macros (keystrokes only, no mouse capability needed), AND
2) It's plug-and-play to the point that it works (including recording and playing those macros) without having to load ANY custom software, drivers, etc. onto the computer it's plugged into.

I'll be running it on a Windows XP machine which will soon be upgraded to Windows 7.

The thing about needing to run, including macros, with only the drivers already included in XP or 7 is that it's for a NON-gaming (work) use and will be plugged into my employer's computer. I'm allowed to plug in keyboards, etc., but I'm NOT allowed to download or install anything in terms of software, drivers, etc.

There are some keyboards out there that will do this, but they're >$300 each and have limited macro capacity (less than 1400 keystrokes total, whether all in one macro or divided between many macros). If there's a gaming keypad out there that fits this bill, I suspect it will probably be under $300 and possibly have more capacity as well... at least that's what I'm hoping!

THANK you!

I have the nostromo and there's roughly 130 programmable macros available. Its super comfortable too and took a lot of strain from my wrest when gaming.

Sorry just noticed that you said it has to be plug and play, the Nostromo needs drivers I don't know about the G13.

have you thought about an access IS board?

they are fully programmable and once you upload your layout you don't need to do anything else. but it's ps/2.
