NZXT Sentry LX Fan Controller Question

post #1 of 2

Hello,
I was wondering two things. Does anybody own the NZXT Sentry LX, and if so could you share your experience with it so far? I am thinking about purchasing one, however there is A LOT of negative feedback on newegg about this product. Generally, I do not look too deep into such things because it seems the more mainstream newegg has become the more non-educated feedback is being left. However, there was enough negative feed back to raise alarm.

Secondly, I have a question that I feel is probably a dumb one. It has a 6W rating per channel, but without amps I do not know how to covert that to voltage. Can anyone assist me with this?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I have no experience with that controller but I've been here on OCN for many years, and what I gather from other reviews, it gets mostly bad feedback as well as the whimpy W's per channel power it provides. IMHO there are much better controllers for the money.

I can however help with the voltage.

Watts = Amps x Voltage.

Just plug in the numbers you have. Voltage is usually constant at 12v, and amps is typically on the fan label. So, to make things easy, if your fan is 0.5 amps at 12v = 6W.
