Well then how do you write one for Windows 7?

Please don't talk about things you have no idea about AND (emphasizing AND) use terms like ignorance.  People like Dr. Web and Kaspersky and the Symantec crew all know how to fight AND find vulnerabilities.  They are the experts, and they have found them.  OSX has been brought to its knees several times by Pwn2own.  Those guys who show up to compete are experts.  If they can do it, so can black hats.

The only one here who has no clue what they're talking about appears to be you and others thinking that this silly piece of spyware that modifies pages in Safari is a virus. But do keep making yourself look ridiculous by calling it one. Brought to its knees? Now you're just making up non-sense. If you want to talk about how easy it is to make a virus for windows, just use any of the many available DLL exploits due to Windows' sloppy DLL loading. Even a skiddie after a couple minutes of Googling would be able to make their own.

No one said Symantec doesn't know how to find them. You sure seem to like to use logical fallacies to try and change the subject though.

agreed. Also wanted to say that I have seen several Mac's with viruses so saying there haven't been viruses for them is absolutely wrong.

Learn to use Google. I've done enough hand holding in this thread already. The burden of proof is on YOU to show that I ever said Symantec doesn't know how to find vulnerabilities... Trying to claim that, which is completely off topic, is what a logical fallacy is. Again, Google to educate yourself on "ignoring the question".
Anyways, not even on topic anymore.

"Saying" you've seen viruses and actually pointing to proof of a virus existing for OSX are two different things. You're free to "say" whatever you want. You're unable to actually provide evidence to support that though.

How did they mislead them? Is it untrue? No. For your typical computer user, it's much easier to get any kind of malware on Windows than on OS X, and that's only going to be more so with Mountain Lion. For some reason Apple didn't update Java straight away, I'm not really sure why but hopefully they won't make that mistake again.

They already released a support document about the issue, saying that they're working on resolving the issue.

How about I make things real easy for you?  Prove I called this specific malware a "virus"  You claimed I did, now prove it.
