Today I'll be reviewing the PureTrak PerfectGlide | HD™ for the XAi, which is also compatible with the Sensei btw.

Okay lets start, shall we?

First off the, technical specifications:
  • 100% Teflon Material
  • Same as original Fitment
  • Provides Fastest Glide Available
  • 1.2mm Thickness for Greater Life Expectancy
  • Powerful 3M Backing Glue
  • Contains Pack of Skates(depending on quantity) with Alcohol Prep Cleaner
  • Limited (90) Day Warranty

For those who want a short comparison it's 1.2mm(HD) vs ~0.5mm for the PefectGlides with the stock feet from SteelSeries

Packaging: The skates come off in an old fashion envelop from PureTrak, with the name: PERFECTGLIDE|HD so it shouldn't be a problem recognizing them marketed as 100% Pure Teflon Mouse Skates! On opening the envelop, you'll find the nicely tucked away skates in tiny zip lock packets which is very neat.

PureTrak is also kind enough to supply some additional Alcohol Prep pads which is essentially 70% Isopropyl Alcohol to clean the residue left behind from the used skates.

To give you a clear idea of the contents:

Tiny neat packets of joy!

Bring on the prep pads! The XAi ready for some deep cleaning:

The pads supplied by PureTrak aren't that great tbh

, so I had some in my own arsenal:

Ready for installation! Since I've a curse called hyperhidrosis, which is sweating of the palms when doing stuff like this, it's a nightmare! If the alignment is off very small increments, I'm screwed.
450

But I had the slightest bit of luck with me too, today. It aligned perfectly!

Appreciation pictures: All three skates in place!

It's really thick for a mouse skates, the XAi on top of my QcK Heavy to show the difference in height!
450

A delicate fit on all three skates, a perfect fit as advertised!

The review is by no means complete, I'll add more pictures later on. Too tired now.

For an initial impression, they are awesome. There are two more threads here in OCN reviewing the HD, and these certain skates require some burn-in time kinda like how they smooth out after some use to get the full performance!
biggrin.gif
The mouse feels a lot better, just as I first received it from SteelSeries.

Some of you might wonder if it'll track since the XAi already was a low LOD(ADNS9500) since the skates increase the height by 1.2mm. The answer? It tracks perfectly!
thumb.gif
I'll be writing more about the feet, as I go into some action in CS:S(my favourite game btw
wink.gif
). The mouse pad I'm using is a QcK Heavy which also gives a smooth as butter glide with these so it's a win win for me!

Pros:
  • Very thick
  • Excellent craftsmanship
  • Pin point accuracy when installing them- perfect size!
    thumb.gif
Cons:
  • Might scrape off the surface(fibre) of delicate cloth pads: QcK series
  • Teal blue colour, it's more like a perfernce though. I honestly wish they were black like the stock ones
  • Mouse feels a lot higher, might take time to get used to(opinion)
I hope you enjoyed the guide. I'll add more pictures as soon as I get some time. Sorry for quality, the pictures were taken from an iPhone 4S, so they might not be on par with what you are used to here.

Lastly please leave some feedback, I'll be really happy and this is my first thread here in OCN!

Oh, and I'm also sorry for my English, it's not my native.

Its the complete opposite here buddy.

These become a lot better after the edges get smooth and round.
biggrin.gif
I was previously using the very same feet from December, but got the itches to replace them again.

The first few days, I was really disappointed but after giving it some time I fell in love with these. Highly recommend them if you own a XAi/Sensei.

...and sorry guys couldn't update the thread, have been really sick since I posted it and was in the hospital for two days.
