Yup frown.gif why would ASUS have all these OC features when the board can't actually overclock. Oh well.

New motherboard it is frown.gif this is my fourth motherboard in 3 months! First two I didn't like, this ones doomed now another one tongue.gif

So I set up everything ran the pump and discovered a leak on the bottom fitting of the reservoir. The problem is the aluminum is too thin and flexes at on the side a little which then breaks the seal created by the JB Weld. So now I'm thinking about how to either fix it or scrap it and start from square one on the reservoir (or even just give in and buy a micro-res). So I closed up the loop in the meantime until I figure that out. As it is I have it going from the pump/cpu block to one radiator in an exhaust fan configuration and then out to the second radiator in an intake fan configuration and then back to the pump/block. I originally wanted the reservoir between the two radiators but we'll see how it performs like this. I'll post a picture and results in a little bit.

I'm too lazy to do the picture tonight. Light will be better tomorrow anyways. Want to get back to benching. For the temps with the H40 Stock I hit 34C idle and 62C max with 22C ambient at 3.9GHz. With the copper block in the H40 I hit 34C idle and 65C max with 22C ambient at 4.5GHz. With the modified H40 and two radiators I hit 30C idle and 57C max at 4.5GHz.

LOL I am stupid, my motherboard isn't gone up. The reason why the card and NB was so hot was because my PCI-E plugs have gone bust on my power supply. I used the 4-pin molex adapter to 6-pin, and hey, instant POST, no corruption, stress test no artefacts.

Silly me. That is quite odd for both the PCI-E plugs to go bust though

Corsair TX650 smile.gif

I think the cables are just bust from twisting and pulling them to be honest, using the 4-pin adapters instead to provide power and its all fine now

EDIT: Probably a short somewhere, I booted up with the PCI-E cables. Sounds like a short or dying PSU

450

So that's how it looks right now. I've settled on a final daily OC setting of 250 x 19 which gives me 4.75GHz. Voltage at idle is 1.41V and Max load at 1.46V with maximum full load temps at 65C with ambient temp at 22C.

So here are the benchmarks for my final settings (daily use). I've turned on AMD cool & quiet, virtualization, c1e etc.

I'm STILL waiting for the spIntel fanboys (and even phenom fanboys) to tell me how that's a "failure" for a $130 CPU. I better not hold my breath waiting on that one.

Hello guys, Im new here. I bought a fx6100 a while ago and got it running stable at 4.2ghz. Heres my specs

fx-6100
evo 212 r2 with 2x120mm
Asus m5a97 evo with latest bios
gskill sniper 1600

I cant get it stable past 4.2 ghz no matter how much voltage I feed it. The absolute miminum voltage I need for a stable 4.2 is 1.404v at a core temp of 52c full load...I cant get it any higher I either get core failures of complete system freezes at 4.3ghz plus...can you guys help me?
