overclock fx 8120 on asrock 990fx extreme 3 - Page 2

Yes it does but if you don't really need SLI or x16/x16 Crossfire and want to save some loot then I would suggest the GA-970A-UD3...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128519

...or the GA-990FXA-UD3 if wanting to run dual GFX cards.

ok for now i cant figure out how to set the ram lower im pretty sure this bios should have it, both those boards you linked have better vrm?
UEFI bios sure look pretty but they can take some getting use to. I'm kind of glad my board doesn't have it but instead Gigabyte offers a program called touch bios for it's boards that can be accessed from windows and looks just like UEFI.

Set the FSB to 200 and use the CPU multiplier only in the bios.

Yea both boards have the 8+2 power phasing and bios layout are identical. The only real difference other than color is that the 970 doesn't have SLI and isn't ideal for Crossfire GFX setup.

That board has 6+2 power phasing which is OK and it is SLI Crossfire capable but only at x8/x8. The Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 is a much better board for less money.
