Hi I downloaded speedfan to try and control my case fan speeds, and I failed. I went through the walkthrough, for setting it up. And it did not work. But when I went out of the config. I saw this.

And if my fans are going at 30,000 rpm, they are the quietest fans ever. and I would like to trade them for someone's kidney...

Sometimes the motherboard can't read a proper signal. I have such an issue with my Sanyo Denki fans, but I think it is either interference from the motor (as Sanyo Denki indicate in their documents) or something else is interfering.

I see you haven't enabled the "Automatic fan speed" control.

Yes I was trying to get them to go faster to see if my CPU would idle any lower, but they wont change their speeds :/

All fan control disabled in the BIOS? Any other software running that might affect it (like software that came with the motherboard)?

I also had a tough time picking out which fan in SpeedFan was for which fan in the case. Set it so all fans display and also all speeds, then mess with each speed to see which fan changes speed. There must be a match.

Sometimes the fan speed indicated is bogus as it isn't a connected fan.

What motherboard is this on and what sensors does speedfan say it has found?

There are multiplier and divider options for fan signals. I think it's under the Advanced tab, or wherever you set your PWM mode.

tried this, and either my fans are already running at full (which I strongly doubt) or this software is not compatible with my crap motherboard...

Have you selected the Nuvoton(sp?) controller? It has to be selected and on manual mode in speedfan to control fans on a SB motherboard.
