The the GTX 675MX or 670MX. The MX denotes the newer GPUs based on Kepler. The 675M and 670M are just rebrands of the 580M and 570M. There's no difference between either.

The 675M is about equal to a GTX 460 and the 670M is about on par with a GTX 465. However, the GTX 670MX is on par with the 675M, while drawing less power and generating less heat, and the 675MX is faster than the 675M by around 30%, matching a GTX 560 Ti fairly easily.

I'm also fairly sure you can OC the MXs better than the MX because of the lower heat output.

Yeah you can. They overclock better in general. tongue.gif The 675MX pushes up to the level of a 680M really easily. wink.gif

Personally, I opted for the 670mx at the last minute, and after reading all this, it makes me sad. :[ I should've pushed my bank account dry for that 675mx.
Well, you're going to be even more sad if you had the option to hold off on a purchase. The new GPUs are coming out in the late spring at least.

They're merely a revamp of what's out right now. You're better off buying a low-end GPU now and just upgrading to the next tier GPU when the new line comes out. Buy when prices are dropping. wink.gif

Will this laptop be a good all rounder? I wont be using solely to play games. I also looked at the Alienware M14x and the Asus G46VW but they are a lot more bulky

Depends on the price you're looking at.

I'd honestly go for a G46 if I didn't want a huge laptop, but I've seen the G46 in person as the bestbuy here in town. They're crazy small for a gaming machine. biggrin.gif Great specs too. smile.gif

If anything, I'd go for the G46 if you wanted a really small machine like that. the i5 is plenty powerful for day to day usage and well moreso for games.
