well i was only saying a 32 in. tv.. if i was getting a projector ide have more space, but i dont have the money to afford a bigger tv.

Ive seen some proectors online for aroun 600 bucks, and i have some at work i may get a discount on. i have aabout 8 feet wall to wall.. so if i project from one wall to another? that should be ok shouldnt it?

it also doesnt have to be a HDTV plasma/lcd. they do make tubes like that also dont they? i dont know much about them.

Basically im looking for something that will make football, movies, and possibly an xbox360/hopefuly ps3 in the future, look good.

I have a DLP projector, the PB6100 by benq. A projector is nice for the size of the image, mine is mounted to the ceiling of my living room in my apartment, and of all the hundreds of people who have seen it in action, everyone has said the $800 I spent on it was well worth it. My roomate recently bought a xbox 360, and we hooked it up. this is what happened, note these, as they apply directly to you.

pros
HUGE.. playing xbox on a 7 foot screen kicks @$$

cons
projector doesnt work well in the middle of the daytime. You have to close the shades, and probably put somehting over windows if you dont have curtains to block out light. This means that whenever you want to use it, for videos, television, or games the room will need to be dark.

resolution isnt as good as HD. a lot of projectors are better than mine, which is 1024x768 native, but that is the low scale in terms of HD.

You should have component video in, or nothing. I tried using the 15 pin D-sub and it is totally unacceptable. Not even par, xbox 360 and a projector will NOT go well together unless you use the HD component video in aspect of your projector.

Once you're all set up, its great for parties, and amazing for a long stretch of gaming. Parties are the best, you can wow a lot of people with it. However, it is somewhat limited in its ability to produce a quality picture, and its inability to be used in daylight like a television or plasma tv can be.

If this is going to be only used occaisonally, and you have a normal television for watching TV, its perfect. However, if you want it for general use, buy a LCD. As stated previously, bulbs are expensive, and last ~3000 hours. If you watched it for 8 hours every day, it would last about a year. At $250-$350 per bulb, it could get costly. I would suggest the LCD for you.

Well, if you get a REAL HD projector...then you won't have to worry so much about it. That's a 4:3 resolution...

Get a real HD projector and you can't go wrong...

My buddy last night has his projector shooting onto a 180" screen or something like that..and it looks perfectly clean...even on cable or regular DVDs...but that's cause it's a good projector. You get what you pay for.

i just looked up bulbs.. and i dont like the extremely high price or replacements. I might look into a 32" or so LCD. Any brands, or places to look into? Im going to check best buy, considering i work there, first.
