Basically I plan on getting an 8120 early this summer. I just need my 1100 to last til then.

Sucks that I got such a weak chip. It simply will NOT cross the 3.8ghz mark unless I go up to 1.45 -- while it can run 3.8ghz full stable at 1.400v. Most would say I should just stick with that then; however, with my SLI setup, I get FPS increases (mainly to my minimum FPS -- which is actually MOST important to me) when I increase my clockspeed.

The 8120 is not going to help you get FPS increases in any regard. At best it will be a sidegrade, and if you don't end up OC'ing that thing to like 4.6GHz or so.. it'll be a downgrade in terms of gaming.

The voltage really isn't very high, I think it probably can be stable higher.

Have you tried messing with LLC? and have you increased the northbridge?

You really will not gain any performance in gaming with 8120 over 1100T. FX cpus have very low instructions per cycle when compared to thuban. Keep your money saved till piledriver releases.....and for 1100T, what is your room temp ? What CPU cooler are you using ?
