AMD A8 For Djing/ light gaming

Thread Starter
So You may have read my post looking for a laptop with dual headphone jacks a little while ago.

Well I have come to think that the way to go to get a budget Djing / casual gaming machine is to use the AMD A8 chips. They are cheaper and I don't need to get a graphics card.

So I'm wondering what everyone's experience has been with them lately?

(I have long been an AMD guy but thought recently they dropped out of the race only to discover they just decided to take a different approach and really "become one" with their old nickname as THE budget CPU. )

Hi,

Have you been to NBR?

There are a few threads there that should help you a lot.

There are some benchmarks here:

and an owners lounge:

(both for the hp dv6z which has a a8 llano)

I would recommend it anyway, if you are on a mid/low budget then they provide the best solution.

EDIT: i forgot, if you can wait 2 months Trinity will be out so you might be able to find an ultra thin with A8 level power by that time (of course the time is estimate and the performance is AMD projected so its not definite)
