Say what you want but if that's not childish then I don't know what is. What more do you freaking want? You petitioned and they are going to create a game for you. Now that isn't good enough and even though you made them feel great by petitioning for their awesome game you now turn around and say it feels like they are slapping you in the face and that you won't buy the game.
Grow up. Simply don't purchase the game children. No one needs you creating yet another petition (seriously this is like running home and crying to your mother b/c johnny down the street hurt your feelings) all b/c things aren't 100% how you wanted them.
Seriously does anyone else not find this laughable? How many times does a group of people need to petition over a video game, over the same video game?!

This petition could be used more than just a mere petition to Namco; it could be a subtle message to all developers out there that Steam is the way to go to increase players, not forcing users to use two separate clients in order to play a game, when they can just play the game on one major digital platform -- Steam. I agree that the way the petition maker put it is freakin' childish... I would punch that guy's face for being an idiot.

PC gamers complain Dark Souls won't be on PC.
They get their way.
Still complain.

I know GFWL sucks but its still funny to see this happen.

My prediction is that Namco's going to make it exclusive on Steam because they fear that all the effort of porting the game might go down to waste and raided by pirates. Sure, Namco will be quite annoyed by the spoiled attitudes of us PC gamers, but once they witness the sales of their newly-ported game on Steam rise quickly, they'll want to go back and thank the fans for laying down the directions. Other companies might learn from this, hopefully. Namco is not familiar with the PC gaming world, so give them a break.

Signed. I don't care if anyone calls me entitled, whiny, or any other word they can come up with to express their disagreement and inability to tolerate other's complaints. GFWL is, and will forever be a deal breaker to me. I'm only signing the petition because it's up, and because I strongly believe that if this is released with GFWL, it will be pirated a hell of a lot more than if it releases on Steam (without GFWL added on, as it can be). This will prove exactly what most developers who don't release games on PC believe, and will probably prevent future titles from being ported.

If you're gonna do it, may as well do it right. Release on Steam, release on Origin even... I don't care. Just not with GFWL tacked on.

Yes.

Do it on Steam. Valve will host your servers, host your patches and game and all that for free. Steamworks. Steam is here to stay.

GFWL games servers go down all the time and can no longer be played online. That's not cool man. If you put it on Steamworks, it'll be playable well into the forseeable future.

GFWL has to do with the X360, obviously.

Microsoft still doesn't get no one wants GFWL.

My thoughts exactly. Microsoft is a multi-way company (not sure if that's the right term), meaning they are focused on a variety of things ranging from OS software to mobile hardware engineering. Their top priority is not PC gaming; Steam's top priority, however, is PC gaming, and Steam has way more resources to support PC gaming than GFWL. It would make much more sense to publish via Steamworks. Therefore, it's a win-win situation for both the suppliers and the consumers! The petition maker should have included more reasons to release via Steamworks. Sigh.

I haven't seen one single poster in this thread insult you for your opinion or bad-mouth From Software & Namco Bandai for their decision to go with GFWL so I don't really know who it is you're addressing.

Honestly if they sell it on all platforms (steam, origin, GFWL, and such) the game will still sale well, plenty of games use GFWL and sometimes its really bad (like corrupting your saves) but other times its nothing more then log in and play.
So if GFWL doesn't do anything stupid to the game (like corrupting your saves) I can't image it being a massive problem.

I've had this torubke with every single GFWL game I own.

It took me hours to get Bioshock and Arkham Asylum working back in the day.

*Launch game*

*GFWL demands a mandatory update before continuing.*

*Finishes updating and restarts the game*

*Rinse and repeat*

I couldn't even get to the in game menu because of this. I can't even remember how I solved the issue but it was something stupid.
