Here's my results 2x 128gb in raid 0,

replaced my old raid of 2x 30gb vertex 1's, Happy with the results, tho the 4k is a little low not sure why either.

Stripe is 128kb and format is in 4mb chunks.

What motherboard/controller are you using?Have you the latest drivers?

I have a single vertex 4 and 4k write is 153MB/s...

You all seem to be enjoying the drives....

on the whole do you all understand how the drive works etc?...a few on the ocz forum did not get it to begin with..i think its best described as a refreshable burst mode myself smile.gif

Im limited to how deep i can go into the tweaks etc but the review on Toms was a good read and while i can not agree or deny if its bang on the money its worth your time at least.

Vector, hopefully i will see a drive soon, i have some preliminary benches and its a VERY good start point to work from...we have teams working flat out to have it ready asap and i will pop by to give you a heads up on when embargo's will lift etc.

Let me know if you need any help, i can drag a support rep here if needed (they can access and create RMA etc where i can not) , overall though I prefer to see support on the oczforum and a little more lightweight help and banter on 3rd party forums wink.gif

Tony

PS I will only post benches etc if requested, im not here to pimp, just to join in and help where requested.

Your scores are pretty much identical to mine, and I was also wondering why mine seemed a bit low frown.gif
I have a Z77 board, 3570k @ 4.5ghz+, the newest drivers etc. so I think that side of things is taken care of. This was on a fresh win7 install as well.

Referring to this?

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/vertex-4-firmware-benchmark,3245-8.html

I never looked into the whole write performance drop on the V4 until now actually and that makes sense. The drive is programmed to use half of each MLC NAND page in this performance mode till it can't anymore (50% filled). Then runs heavy garbage collection to move data from the half filled pages and consolidate the data to a whole pages until adequate used space is freed (Will be in the slightly slower MLC mode in the mean time). Once finished performance mode enabled again for the remaining cleared NAND.

Basically the end users get to have extra performance most of the time though clever firmware programming with a slight caveat that barely affects most end users. Pretty cool now that I have looked into this. biggrin.gif

Tony, any info on the length of time in which the process takes to go from slow mode to performance mode again?

Also, anything on why in RAID 0 as benches usually show scaling of ~800MB/s reads rather 1GB/s? Is there a certain strip size to use with the V4? The Intel z77/z68 chipset/driver? Or maybe just some people's benches are shown with Intel speed step and other power saving features enabled thus showing lower speeds?
