Can 3D games kill an IGP?

I recently acquired (very cheaply, I might add; the opportunity presented itself and I thought "Why not?") a 15.6" laptop with an AMD M880G chipset, which includes a Radeon HD 4250. The native resolution of the laptop display is 1366x768.

If something happened to my current gaming machine, and I wanted to play SWTOR at "very low" settings on my new laptop at its native resolution, would I run the risk of damaging the IGP? It's my understanding that it's extraordinarily difficult to damage hardware with software, but I figured it can't hurt to ask.

I'm well aware my framerate would be close to unplayable but I tend to have a high tolerance for bad 3D performance (I have trouble telling the difference between 30 FPS and 90, between high and low graphic settings, and between 1366x768 and 1920x1080; the doctor said my eyes are fine, my brain is just easygoing I guess).

No, it'll get hot and more than likely overheat after extended hours of play. Other than that, put a fan by it and have at it.

Awesome, thanks! I happen to have a laptop cooling pad sitting in my closet so if I ever have need to play games on my new cheap-o laptop I will be sure to pull that out and use it.
