New PC build now Games seem to lag skip, help plz!

So I have a new PC build. Now when I play games mostly Black ops It will run fine show low ping and every 30-40 seconds It will lag skip. For instance Ill be running across the map in one direction and instantly will be somewhere else. Then runs fine and sure enough it will do it again. Its not all the time just every 30-40 seconds ish.

My new PC specs are

Phenom II x 2 560 BE

Msi 970A-g45

HIS 5770

4GB Gskill Ram DDR3

90GB Corsair Force 3 SSD

I know my specs are perfectly fine to run that game, so could it be my wireless N card? I have used this card the past three builds I have had was running fine just a week ago, but could it be getting interference? Dpes this sound like a NIC issue or a CPU/GPU error?

I dont want to here how black ops sucks ran fine for me before. And I don't want to here bout my low power phase crap MSI board either.

Any real help is much appreciated. Thanks guys.

P.S. I know ideally you wanna have a hard line to your router but not possible in my house.

seems like a connection issue to me, try doing a speedtest check to see if you're getting your full bandwidth.

is your computer in the same location as your previous builds?

Just did three speed tests. Im getting the ping and download speed I typically do.

The computer is in same location as other builds to.

Server is trolling you? rolleyes.gif

No really , that's my best guess , either that or your signal is being interrupted by something else in your neighborhood.

Going down the Capt Obvious track here, so pls dont be offended..

Do you have the lastest driver for your N card?

I have a similar issue until I released my driver was 3 versions old. Once updated, no issues thumb.gif

Newest driver made no diff. I start running then all the sudden my charecter jump like 100 feet.

I am assuming this is lag but, could it be CPU or GPU. That is my main concern is that a piece that I just bought may be defective.

Sounds like lag.

Have you tried an SP game, just to clear hardware issues?

Ya I played fallout new vegas, and single player black ops fine, so I guess it must be lag.

What can I do to track issue down? I played with this NIC last week, same ISP router position ect. somehow its gone wonky with this new build. My NIC is a Netgear wn311b.

Hmmm... can you borrow / beg / try another NIC just to compare?

Can you confirm that there are no interupt conflicts with other devices > check Device Manager?
