Crossfire/Flashing Dual 4870X2`s

Hi All,

Im new here and am sorry if this has already been answered but i have yet to find the information im after

I recently acquired 2 ATI Radeon 4870x2`s from a seller on Ebay.

My problem is and i hope this makes sense is that the buyer told me that one of the cards has the ASUS Top Bios flashed on it and that it needs to be the master in my computer with the other being in the secondary PCI-E Slot. Ive checked both cards using GPU-Z and can find no difference in bios names aka the bios is showing the same name across all 4 GPU`s. Im new to these 4870`s so im not sure if there is another bit of software that will show me the correct information. My problem is that my PC will BSOD with the Crossfire ribbon installed. When i take the ribbon off i can boot into windows and everything works fine and i see all 4 GPU`s in Device Manager. So in hinesight im after some information.

ive also been looking into how to flash the cards and have the bootable USB media ready. But ive found over at TechPowerup (http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/index.php?page=1&architecture=&manufacturer=ATI&model=HD+4870+X2+Master&interface=PCI-E&memSize=0) that there are 2 different bios`s. One is for master and there is another for slave. Im unsure if it means Master and Slave for the single card as they have 2 GPU`s or Master and Slave in a crossfire scenario?

Is someone able to help please

PC Specs
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
Gigabyte GA-MA785-UD3H
Thermaltake 850 watt Modular PSU
AMD X2 250 True Dual Core @ 3.0ghz
6 Gig Ram DDR2/ 2 x Patriot - 2 x APACER

Here is the report ive got from Everest for both cards. It clearly shows the same bios across all GPu`s

I don't really know anything about your problem, but doing a quick look at your motherboard, it doesn't appear to support quad-fire, so I think that might be the problem.
