Crucial M4 Firmware Update

Thread Starter
Just want to make sure on the firmware upgrade for my Crucial M4. Is 000F the version I should upgrade to for my 64GB SSD?
Can I use the "Windows 7 Updater Application" found here?
http://www.crucial.com/support/firmware.aspx?AID=10273954&PID=4003003&SID=36obuq6rmhwz

And should I also use the "Manual Boot File" or is the Updater Application all that I need to use?

Thanks,
My System

I just used the updater application and had no issue. If you end up with a issue running it simply do it manually.

When you used the application have it on the root of a drive like just drag and drop on C:
When you accept the license the PC will restart and you will start the update.
It takes a min or so and will restart the PC on its own when it is done.

The new SSD arrived in the mail today! NCIX was super quick with the shipping.
It had Firmware 0309 on it and I updated it to 000F.

Now where can I go within Windows to check what firmware version I am running on the SSD? (I would like to check my other drive)

Just curious, but when you install a firmware update using Crucial's Windows 7 Updater Application does it also wipe the data on it clean too?

Use AS SSD: http://www.alex-is.de/PHP/fusion/downloads.php?cat_id=4&file_id=9

In the upper left it shows the firmware.

It does not wipe the data.

Hey Sean,

So I am installing Windows 7 drivers as per #6 on your post here, "Windows 7 Install & Optimization Guide for SSDs & HDDs"

And I am downloading the drivers directly from Gigabyte's website and then going into Device Manager to scan for the files locally on my machine, careful to locate the 64-bit files directly:

The only missing devices in Device Manager seem to be these three:
WUARV.png

I have also installed the newest nVidia drivers and rebooted. Do you know which files I will need to download from Gigabyte's site in order to hook up these last 3 devices in Device Manager?

Thanks again!

Honestly I don't know lol.

Maybe try using this: http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect

Have it auto detect your drivers for your system and update as needed.

Have you tried the Intel ME Driver for your Chipset it helps with the PCI being shown as a unrecognized Device. That got rid of mine. Then disable the remote services unless your using them is what i did and now all my devices are shown in device manager.
