So long ago before faildozer, I like many people prepared for it. My plan was to buy a second GPU when faildozer came around as an upgrade, well long story short that never happened, cause it SUCKED!

So heres my question, can my 955 Phenom handle a second 6970 lightning, or should I go for a Z77 upgrade? The 955 is overclocked to 4.4 but I just feel I'll be limited by the CPU. Should I just sell the 6970 and get a 680? Opinions?

I run my FX-8150 at 4.5 GHZ and I am also running 2 GTX 560 TI's, in BF3 my CPU is the bottleneck. If I can get it stable at about 4.7GHz maybe 4.6GHz I could see the bottleneck going away. If you want to stay with AMD wait till Piledriver like I am doing, but for now if you don't want to run into a bottleneck I would say jump ship.

EDIT: After overclocking my CPU to 4.6GHz it eliminated all of the bottleneck in my CPU.

Get yourself either a cheap Sandy Bridge or a new Ivy Bridge when it gets released. Im currently on a X6 1090T at 3.8GHz. I've been wanting to get an Ivy Bridge for a while now since my current board is faulty and I plan on getting a 2nd 6950 so its time for an upgrade.

So I would upgrade CPU if your gonna get a second card and check these out http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/88?vs=288
