Choosing an air cooled Full Tower

Thread Starter
I was planning to buy a totally new pc about 3 months ago using what I had learned from everyone here and other forums as I haven't built a PC in a long, long time, but I decided to wait for the Ivy Bridge i7 and the GTX 680. I'm going to have great components, dropping about $2500 on the initial build, but I need an awesome case.
Here's the catch... I want to stay with air cooling and it needs to be a Full Tower.
I'm going to drop another GTX 680 in the thing for SLI the month after I put it together, if I can find one, plus I will be sticking with SSD so I need quite a few drive bays. Yes, I know its not very cost efficient, but I want to. I'll expand over time. Sometimes things get stuck in your head and you want to do it no matter what. smile.gif
Needs to be pci-e 3.0 native and have room for a large CPU cooler, as I will be overclocking both the CPU and the GPU, though with the 680 i've read that it might be a waste of time considering with what nvidea did there's not much overhead.
I dont care where the PSU goes as long as its not in the middle of the case. I haven't chosen the mobo yet because I want to wait until Ivy actually releases, though it will be an ATX.
I was initially considering the Cosmos 2 as it is a new release and can carry me far into the future, but as it is $350 I was wondering if anyone had any other option for me from your experiences? I've had the Silverstone Fortress FT02B-W recommended and I gotta say I love the way the Mobo is set up and the Bitfenix Raider which no one sells. Their store is down and the place they say have it don't have it. I also considered the CM StormTrooper.
I've done research, but basically what I've noticed is that water cooled gets a lot more air time than air cooled. So I seek advice from the people who I can talk to instead of a video review.

Thanks for any help coming my way.

I love my FT02 easy to setup, lots of space behind the mobo tray for cables; Has plenty of drive bays and one with a hot swap if thats your thing. Keeps my 2 6970s and 2500k cool and quiet.

Never used the CM Storm Trooper but looks like most of their products; fantastic plastic, I would not go anywhere near it but saying so i have not read a review or seen it in real life so take what I say with a grain of salt.

Take a look at the Rosewill Thor V2 and Silverstone Raven RV02 and RV03 in addition to the FT02. The Thor V2 is one of the only cases on the market to actually beat out the FT02 and Raven in cooling performance, at least according to Anandtech and Vortez has it beating the Cosmos II. It's definitely a love it or leave it case in terms of looks that comes in black or white, but the performance is there and it seems to have pretty solid build quality, albeit with more plastic than I generally like.

KyesaRRi, what is the cable management like with the mobo rotated? Any issue or is it pretty standard?

nubbinator, I see what you mean about the Thor. Not really my thing for appearance.

The reason I considered the CM StormTrooper is that the Air Flow is supposed to be as good, if not better than the Haf X, and that its got a handle if I need to move it. Anyone got an opinion?

I considered the CM Cosmos 2 because, well, I can put anything I want in it and not have to worry whether it will fit. the airflow is awesome, and the case looks awesome. $350. Someone please talk me out of that case, It will put me back another month.

Please chime in with you experiences with your towers, any full tower, I will seriously look at them all.

Thanks again.

Cable management is much better than my p180 / p182; getting the cables from my PSU to my BigNG was a pain but just made it.

I have some MDPC sleeve and enough heat shrink to do the full length of every cable in my case but i really dont want to redo all the cables.
