ahh sorry, i was rushing and miss read smile.gif
but yes also not all boards site will state support for IB but still your right that you should check and check for the latest BIOS smile.gif

example we know this board supports IB but the asus website makes no reference to it but implied as it supports PCIe 3.0

That's true, I will gladly concede that point. I've noticed that determining IB support is kind of a lesson in semantics. For example, although ASRock doesn't come right out and say it, you have to assume the Extreme 4 Gen3 supports IB based on this statement:

Quote:
Note: To run the PCI Express 3.0 slots in Gen 3 speed, CPU supporting PCI Express 3.0 is required. If you install the Sandy Bridge CPU, the PCI Express 3.0 slots will run only at Gen2 speed.

otherwise the whole concept of their Gen3 board is useless.

Ok now next question, dual channel ram or quad channel? Either is in my price range but its an extra $30 for a quad channel kit. If its gonna make a difference then i wanna get it as im doin it right this time lol

i wont make a difference, only dual channel is supported by the lga1155 platform so with 4 dimms you will run in dual channel... quad channel is used a lot as marketing 4 dimm kits smile.gif

For buying my parts? I have someone coming today to look at my computer and im pretty confident they are going to buy as she seemed really excited. So that puts me back in the $1000 range. So i'm going with a i5 2500k 8 gigs ram, 1tb sata 6 hdd, gtx 560 ti 2gb again, another 750 watt pc power and cooling psu, and same case i had before and still have $57 left over, what to do what that i havent decided yet...Wish i had just $200 more and i could get my second video card!
