Today it's an illusion to think that Visual Basic is the 'easy beginner' language. VB has also developed extenstensively over the years in the form of VB.NET.

If you are to pick a language to start out with, you might as well start right out with C#, 'beginner difficulty' is no longer a factor in this decision. In fact, you're making it much easier for yourself as C# is the defacto standard. VB is merely maintained for backward compatibility and office (macro) development.

VB and C# are for Windows-only for the most part. If you're looking to be a professional software developer with the ability to work for a wide range of companies, then you'll want to know some C++ or Java. If you want to limit yourself to Windows, or you just want to use VB or C# to start learning programming, no problem, but I would highly recommend learning some other languages if you want a chance for greater opportunity.

Anyway, yeah Visual Studios is very easy to use IF you know programming, if you don't, well, let's just say, this program won't help you learn it any faster, as it has a lot of fill in the blank drop down menus that keep popping up every time you type something...
For a proficient coder who doesn't need "hints", like myself, I find this highly annoying!
Microsoft is so full of itself it forgets to ask real programmers what they think...

You got no flipping clue what your talking about in the first place. Don't put your brain to shame
