What Wattage PSU do I need to power my system please?

Thread Starter
Hey all

Just wondering what Wattage PSU I will need to power the following system:

CPU: Intel core i5 2500k @ 4500-4700 GHZ
CPU Cooler: Antec Kuhler h20 920
GPU: MSI 1536MB GeForce GTX 580 Twin Frozr II/OC NVIDIA Graphics Card
RAM: 8GB Vengeance DDR3 @1600MHZ
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3P
HDD: 1TB WD Black
OS: Windows 7 Home premium
Case: CM Storm Enforcer or CM 690 advanced II (not decided, can anyone help me decide lol) -- both will have additional fans put in (11 total in the CM 690, 5 total in the CM storm enforcer)

Not sure if I gave too many details, sorry if I put anyun necessary info, just want to be certain I get the right PSU. Also, how does the system look? (Not purchased yet)

Thanks for any input! smile.gif

EDIT: I will also be using USB 3.0, one or two slots probably, not sure if that matters though!

Thanks for the fast reply, I will be staying with a single gpu for a while, if I went SLI it would be in a year or so smile.gif

650w for a single gpu? much less than I thought so i'm glad I asked first! I was looking at 850-1000w ones haha, since the GPU/CPU are overclocked I thought i'd need more
post #7 of 24
yeah no go with one of the single gpu options I recommended and you will do just fine smile.gif

Except for the M12II Bronze 620, every other unit linked there makes for a poor to horrid deal....
All you need is a ~550W PSU for a single 580.

and sure he really only might need 550 but it is good to give some head room in my opinion whether or not your SLI or single gpu

A 550W solution already comes with heardroom for the hardware he listed.. not that headroom has any relevance.
As for the units you linked.. again, except for the M12II B which is well priced, there are better deals to be had on newegg, on equally good or better units, than everything else you listed.
