Please give us the picture of the TDP of ivy bridge your using.
I want to confirm about the rumor going yesterday that the TDP is not as expected as use to be.
Tnx.

you can see the i5 tdw is 77 it even shows in there screen shots but the real question is whats the tdw of the 3770k

The 3570K i got was not boxed version, got just the chip. The 2 3770K's that are on the way are retailed boxed versions so will post a picture of the TDP once they arrive.

I am on Phenom II X4 and I need upgrade. Plan is PCI-E 3.0 graphic card.
Intel please don't destroy my plan. I don't wan't so high OC and 95W or 125W I don't care.
I will OC on 4.0GHz that is my plan from first day when i decide IB but I want good CPU and space for OC not worse CPU than SB and good temps.
Maybe buy motherboard and wait little to see maybe some revision or... I don't know.
But Haswell is better options for me than SB now.

I'd get a 2600k and a z77 board. PCIe 3.0 has no use atm. (except for a few multi-gpu systems)

Just moved from a 4.0Ghz 965 BE (RB-C3) Deneb on 890FX - to Z77 & 2700K, the performance increase even with the 2700K at stock is massive - nearly double the memory controller throughput and an average increase for me of around 53% based on a load of before and after benches I did (MaxxPI, MaxxLP, MaxxMemm, SuperPI etc). Also runs the same temps as my 4Ghz 965. Can't wait for my TIM to run in fully, then I'll be giving the 2700 some juice!

However, gone OT, thanks for the awesome in-depth work you guys are doing with the early IB, really interesting reading smile.gif

It's not problem for me to buy EVGA Z77FTW and 2600k but what I wait so much IB. This 2012 year is worse HW year.
Now think to buy almost 2 years old CPU for next 3 years.
This is not what I wait,
Everything should be different. Ivy 15-20% better than SB and easy 5.0GHz OC and NVIDIA should make GK110 and with both
everything will be good. Now everything look different, IB is maybe worse than SB, Nvidia give us mid range because think they know what is enough for us and when
some new good game came out GTX680 will play on 30fps maybe Crysis 3, like all mid range cards.
I don't know maybe I'll will waith Haswell too and next whole Nvidia line up together withuot calculating with people and give us mid range renamed and now I call that segment
-NVIDIA Think Thats Enough For People no normal line up.
I think Intel better to stay with Z68 and not came out with Z77.
This looks like AM3+. People buy Crosshair 5 and wait BD and than buy what X6 1110T like better option CPU old almost 2 year like good options.
Every day I am close to give up from Z77 and NVIDIA and wait better times without calculating and cheating people.
I don't want to buy 300e Z77 board without improvements or to buy worse CPU than SB.
Maybe is Z77 new AM3+ only for Intel.

IVB was only ever going to be a minor update to SB. 15-20% was far too much to expect, unless you like paying twice as much for your chips due to the R&D effort. If you have SB then stick with it, if you have older systems, then go either IVB or SB. My personal choice is IVB, as it'll give me access to PCI-E3.0 which for a mobo and cpu I intend to last for the next 3-4 years will be useful.

With regards to nvidia, yes it sucks that they left the 110 on the bench, but it will come out to play once AMDATI get their game on.

I have Phenom II X4. Minor update like 10% is not so bad for me.
But CPU must be without problems. Not 4.5GHz unstable on 90C.
SB story for me is over. This is option for now and next year not for some 3-4 year upgrade.
Native USB 2.0, SATA 3Gbps in 2015-SB 2600/2700???

I start to think again on EVGA X79 SLI and 3930k after 2 months, 6cores, black-devil EVGA board...
Z77 boards must go down 30% with price.
Because with 2600K its same like Z68 maybe worse only.
Z68FTW+2700k under 500 or about 500.
Z77FTW +3770k over 650.
Look benchmark scores and OC, temperatures, performance,...
Z77FTW on 250-280$ price if situation is like this, only can be worse than we see.
And to choose for same price native USB 3.0... or better OC with SB and better scores when OC.
