More Ivy Bridge benchmarks - Sandybridge comparison - 3770K vs 2600K (Performance, temps etc) "Couple Of LN2 scores are up" - Page 24

Eggy88,

If you wanted to, I know it wouldn't exactly be the same benchmarks but I can get my memory to the same timing and my chip is stable at those clocks.
I know its a completely different motherboard but I could run the benchmarks and you maybe could add those to the comparisons.

Just let me know.

Eggy88, hope you give us a pic of the TDP on the box on yr 3770 when it comes, cause this box from Nordic Hardware says 95W. It's a worry.

200

I was going to pounce on one of these on release. Not so sure now.

well my 3570k is labeled 95W tdp aswell so i doubt a retail 3770k is gonna be labeled 77w.
What someone else on the nordic thread says is prolly right though, they are still the same chip that they designed, but just labeled 95W tdp because they run so hot(for oem). guess we'll get some official word from intel on this after release though

SB story for me is over. This is option for now and next year not for some 3-4 year upgrade.
Native USB 2.0, SATA 3Gbps in 2015-SB 2600/2700???
I start to think again on EVGA X79 SLI and 3930k after 2 months, 6cores, black-devil EVGA board...
Z77 boards must go down 30% with price.
Because with 2600K its same like Z68 maybe worse only.
Z68FTW+2700k under 500 or about 500.
Z77FTW +3770k over 650.
Look benchmark scores and OC, temperatures, performance,...
Z77FTW on 250-280$ price if situation is like this, only can be worse than we see.
And to choose for same price native USB 3.0... or better OC with SB and better scores when OC.

ib may not oc as well but even a 3770k at 4.3ghz will be worlds faster than your cpu, and if your only gaming it would be better to get a 2500k it OC's like hell and will be just as good, if not better than a 2600k in gaming because most games don't have HT support

It should point out that HT was disabled.

look at that ^^ its not an ES and it is using 77watts, there is a lot of conflicting evidence in this mystery

first of all that dates back from 8 march, right now(week from suspected release) it is alot more likely the actual retail chips are already on the way to/in the stores.
then the only proof you have of that chip having a tdp of 77W is the cpu-z screenshot. all cpu-z screenshots of 3570k's or 3770k's have shown a tdp of 77W. Cpu-z doesnt get its data directly from the chip, and it is likely cpu-z just notes 77W there because all 3570k's and 3770k's were supposed to be 77W.
i doubt any intel rep is going to give any direct information about this till launch, considering they are not supposed to be out yet.

It's just that CPU-Z displays wrong TDP, it was believed that TDP is 77W, but now it's apparent it's not. Nevertheless, power consumption is reduced, so TDP means nothing.

EDIT: punceh was faster. smile.gif

Never mind I will buy 3770k if it's not so bad or waiting Haswell.
I don't want to buy 2 years old Processor only because is after waiting 6-7 months something i planto buy bad for OC and unstable on under 1000Mhz and heat like hell.
SB OC 1500-1600MHz on good AIR Cooler.

This their standard story when launch something not good, than old HW suddenly becomes excellent options. Not for me. SB is excellent for this and next year.
I will look like AM3+ owners ready with Crosshair 5 talk whole year X6 is nothing special, X4 is same for gaming and thah after BD fail suddenly X6 good options together with new AM3+.
Than wait Haswell. It's long way but never mind, because this looks like AM3+ , whole Z77 story. I avoid AMD and now think to avoid and Intel. Phenom II will hang one year oc on 4.0GHz and outgoing
GK110 buying until see Haswell Performance...IF IF IB is unstable on 4.5GHz. Damn 2012 year and whole new HW.
Or hope Intel launch revision on summer. Better is delay IB to July.
