I guess the only good thing about waiting is that I have an EVGA GTX 680 SC in the mail getting here tomorrow and if I had built sooner I would have ended up paying $600 for a 7970.
So now, there's the fine line between deciding if snapping up one of the last 2500ks on the inevitable bundle clearouts and saving maybe $30 or so over the equivalent IB cpu is the no-brainer way to go or not... if the SB is going to be cheaper, cooler and faster at OC it really does seem a no brainer but it really rubs me the wrong way psychologically to be buying "last gen" stuff for a brand new build. Hell I could have held on to my horses before buying all of the other components and waited for Haswell if I knew in advance this would be the situation.
But hey, hotter IB than expected? I guess I'm glad I have the NH-D14 sitting in a box on the floor then after all.
Oh well, I have to stop over analyzing it and just remember that the CPU is hardly going to matter for what I'm going to use the PC for anyway (gaming / work (software development)) for the next few years from the looks of it at any rate and just start thinking about how I'm going to find the time to play DIII again.

Are you sure. I sad now if Ivy 3770k can OC 4.6-4.8GHz on H70/H100 without crazy temps and better Performance 5% on same clock than 2700k I will buy CPU immediately. That mean I can OC 4.5GHz in future on H100 and better Performance than 2700k for me that is enough because I don't want 2 years old HW with 8 years USB 2.0 and old PCI-E 2.0.
That new things never mind if people talk that is nothing for me that is important. I dont want same things from period Core Duo or somethig else.
I mean on SATA 2, USB 2.0. Over 5 years I listen about USB 3.0 and now to buy SB and next 3 years native USB 2.0.

Also the reduction in power the few hours of the day it is idle does not save much money. if it cuts the power with 50% 5 hours of the day / 7 days a week / 52 weeks of the year, that adds up to ~10$ a year so what's the point.
