just for lolz ;

Building a rig with some sort of "temperature wall" (or what ever you wanna call it) inside you computer is not good idea as condensation will form on the hot side of the wall. It is better to have a solid cold air flow throug the rig. If the airflow is so strong it does not significantly heat as it pass through the rig condensation should be neglible.

That's not going to stop condensation from building up on the metallic parts though is it? Such as the blocks themselves and the angled adapters as it has built up on the photo that the OP showed.

Thread Starter
Trying this again...

Did some runs on the 3770K's now. I think 3Dmark11 has a bug with IB, with 4c/8t @ 4.9Ghz i got a score of 95xx that is about the same as a 2600k @ 3.9Ghz scores.
In 3dMark Vantage it scored 345xx so that sounds right (about the same as a 2600k @ 5.2Ghz)

It looks to me as if Ivy Bridge has a negative scaling with overclocking and 3dMark11. (Could some other people here do some benchmarks and confirm that) all other test here scale correct, expect 3dMark11.

Will do some more benchmarks in the morning.

There are ways of dealing with this, Liquid Electrical Tape, closed cell neoprene insulation, kneadable eraser, dielectric grease, nail polish, extra fans: all easily researched by googling sub-zero insulation. Condensation can be held off enough to get a validation, or even several benchmark results, but these techniques are not enough to run at sub zero temps 24/7, AFAIK.

It's a topic all of its own, and we're going OT.

Keep going Eggy88, and thanks for this thread...

Funderade på att köpa en 3770k först.
Men undrar om jag ska köpa en 2700k och spara 1000kr eller är det värt att köpa en 3770k för 1000 kr mera?
