Oooh, I like that matte tubing (I'm a sucker for matte). Stupid I didn't think of getting automotive tubing ( that's at least what I think it is, correct me if I'm wrong) before.

Man kan köpa en 2700k för 2000kr
har rabatt så det blir 2000kr.
Funderade på att köpa en 3770k först.
Men undrar om jag ska köpa en 2700k och spara 1000kr eller är det värt att köpa en 3770k för 1000 kr mera?

3770k är inte värt alls. Bara köpa 2500K och du kommer vara lycklig

I understand all fine, it's you Swedes that don't understand us Norwegians ^^

It's a hard call, i would honestly think you are best of with a 2700K, the 3770K's are running insanely hot and i would doubt that it would be possible to run it at anything over 1.25v with HT on for 24/7 with a good watercooling loop, i wont even dream about air if you are considering overclocking. I hope that i'm able to play around with the voltages and lower the temps here, but even @ 1.35v and 1.75v PLL it's hitting close to 80C with a 10C water temp.

Yeah, best to keep it to English.

Does that look like an actual complete 4M super pi run to you? my trusty Q9550 does the first loop in 5.338s compared to 5.195. it should need 21 loops, but it only shows 1. Also no checksum etc.

Soon done with most of the tests on the 3770K with HT off, did those first because I've already done the 2600K tests with HT on.

There is a little difference between the 3570K and the 3770K HT off so the extra 2Mb L3 Cache is good for something tongue.gif

I'll update the first post with the new benchmarks and differences in % later today. I will do some 4.9/5Ghz runs with HT on just for to do them and leave the scores in a own section, not going to be doing a comparison there.

Updated all of the 4.5Ghz 3570K tests to 4.5Ghz 3770K HT OFF tests, i already had the 4.5Ghz 2600K HT OFF tests done so that was the easiest.

All in all the 3770K with HT off is about 2% over the 3570K due to the extra L3 tests so the scores are a bit more in favor of the Ivy Bridge.

The extra L3 cache was also the cause of the gap between the 2600K and the 3570K @ 4.5Ghz in 3DMark 2011 it's now of IB side again.

I've also added a couple of 4.9Ghz and 5Ghz benchmarks with the 3770K with HT on to see what it is capable off, load temps is plain sick, and i am only able to load for 1-2min at the time @ 1.42v before heat starts building up and the cores jump up in the 70's, that is even with a cool 10c water temp.

Will have to do the 3.4Ghz 3770K tests to complete the comparison on Monday or Tuesday. Tomorrow i'm going over to a friend to trow the chips under the pot.

Eggy is your impression that these temps are real and not an artifact of something else?, the physics says there should be a rise, but is it more than expected?
