$100 2.1 Speakers - Page 2

Well, those Logitech's have a knob dedicated to adjusting the bass, when you crank them up and want to have some midrange then back off on the bass a bit lol. Personally, the only time I crank speakers WAY up is to do sine wave frequency response tests or to play really deep bass for fun (want a funny game, try knock the [whatever] over with your subwoofer lol) so in that case all I need is the subwoofer to be super loud.

I play what ever sound set up I have at full volume all the time. So I think I would really annoy the neighbours if I got some thing like a z-5300. .

My X-530 is ok for now I guess.

If you could stretch a little and don't mind open box, I've always heard that these are good:

These are the customer reviews:

EDIT: Just noticed you already were familiar with these. I've always heard that Logitecs have powerful bass, but not necessairly controlled. The end result is if you're listening to rap you'll lose some of the "attack" of the song. I'm guessing you can't go to a local BestBuy and try them out individually.

The Klipsch woofer can go slightly lower (31Hz vs. 35Hz) though for such small encolsures I doubt that those frequencies are very audible.

I'd try them, then pick one.... otherwise, based purly on personal opinion, I'd go with the Klipsch and chepaer sound card.

The audigy 4 SE is more than 20 dollars than the audigy 2 zs, and offers the same sound quality. That paired with the klipsch would make a killer combo. I have heard good things about the promedia's, they seem to be the ultimate 2.1 speakers.
