The decisions you make DO shape your experience, in many ways...........
Unless the word "experience" pertains exclusively to the ending of the game, which is obviously not the case.
This is one of those cases where I'm not sure if people know why they're actually complaining.

True, but in that case you could use that exact advertising statement and apply it to the orig. Super Mario Bros. As your decisions shape your experience. If you decide to jump over a ledge, that shapes your experience into jumping off a ledge.

But the question is, they made it seem like every users experience would be completely different and based upon decisions made, rather than, if you move left and someone moves right, totally unique decisions. There has to be a limit in what can be considered acceptable, but its a hazzy subject to argue at best, as both sides of the argument can make very compelling cases.

Personally, I think they goofed and should just apologize for badly wording their ads and misleading most people. Even if it wasn't their intention it should be pretty clear why people would interpret it the way they did. It's like how Collective Bargaining Agreements are made between Unions and Employers... Most issues are worded so vague that it can be easily interpreted in favour of both the employer and the employee. This is often done on purpose as they get to give themselves a reason to exist as bloated as they are and make it look like they do something, and it gives the employer wiggle room on certain issues. It's all lawyer-speak and double-talk.

This was simply a failed ad campaign that promised more than it could offer. I don't see a reason for any type of legal action, just owning up by the developer/publisher and maybe even a free DLC pack or something to smooth things over.

Seriously, if they would have came out after the reaction and said something like "We're sorry we didn't offer what a lot of you were hoping for. And we apologize if any of our statements were mistaken or if people felt mislead as it was not our intention. We simply wanted to offer a great game where your choices in the game can affect the way you play. But for the inconvenience, we're offering players a choice of a free DLC pack or 20% off their next game purchase. We hope the community can understand our intentions and accept our apology for the misunderstanding."

Something like that and there might not have been an issue at all.

Oh well, this will make headlines for a while then fizzle out and die.

I believe gaming as a whole has been on the decline with good titles coming out. The large budget games are just that, large budgets. It hasn't meant that we would receive good titles just because a large amount of money was put into it. Hell, I've been having more fun with flash games and indie games by far than with AAA titles. Maybe this will have devs pay attention to their customers more, but I also think this is too far to one extreme to get the BBB involved. The petition thing seemed to have started to work, with EA telling us they were going to release a new ending or extended ending or w/e for ME3 so I think things were beginning to take shape, but now it is going in a bad direction imo.

I wish the BBB would step in for the damn DLC stuff though, or someone take care of this. I have refused to buy any new games with talks of DLC just because I find it asinine to put a game out for $60 and then continue to charge me additional money for something you decided you wouldn't put in the game originally.

Despite what people think the BBB has virtually no real authority even though bureau is in the companies name. They perpetuate the belief they are a government agency to make themselves seem powerful but it's fake. The BBB is just Angie's List with a big bark and no bite.

This is true, but some companies (like my own) still take BBB complaints seriously. I don't know abut EAware though.

While I hated the endings, I don't think this will set a good precedent.
I do, however, think what they did adding a prothean as a day 1 paid DLC was absurd.

This is true. But, some do take it seriously. I take it seriously. And at the end of the day, It's negative press for these companies.

Didn't you hear about the BBB giving good ratings to companies that paid due's and membership fees, and revoked good ratings as soon as they stopped their membership. While all companies should take complaints seriously I do not take the BBB seriously.

I have not had personal experience with the BBB but as a company claiming to do better business practically scamming companies is not a company I will affiliate with.

Have you heard that Pepsi and Coke flavor their drinks with aborted baby fetuses?
I hear alot of stuff on the interwebs I don't necessarily believe. I need proof. My experience with the BBB has been a good one overall and they have helped me resolve issues with companies in the past.

They rate my ISP as garbage and for good reason. My ISP hasn't been able to buy a good rating for themselves and are no longer Accredited.

I've personally seen them give good ratings and favorable rulings to MULTIPLE companies that I have worked for. They're famous for being a glorified extortion racket.

One company (I won't disclose names) that I worked for was blatant about it. The owner once got a call from our rep with a complaint (he left them a voicemail the first so he was expecting the call) and he answered the phone with "X from the BBB!!! MY FAVORITE COMPANY!! I love you guys. Hey, let me give you some Bulls tickets. Do you like courtside?"

Take a wild guess who won that dispute =p
