Your not going to find an Opteron with an unlocked multiplier, only the FX series chips have unlocked multis.

I like the Intel option, since it's very upgradable (Core 2 Duo ready!)
I did pick only 512MB RAM for now. Just add a second stick if you have the money (or if you can spend like $550, get 1GB now)
