Asus RMA is INFURIATING *FINAL UPDATE!* - Page 3

i don't know how this would of happen but usually when they receive it it takes them 2 to 3 business to test it. that's what i did with my ASUS M4A79XTD EVO
yeah it took about a week to get it to them and then a couple days to actually process it and then about 3 weeks to get it back. it took a while but they did send
me a new board pretty much. and sorry to hear that you have this issue with their rma service.

Asus has literally the worst support in the industry. Bar none. I work at a computer repair and retail shop, they suck. Even though they have some decent products I avoid most of their products b/c of their horrible support.

The last tale of woe we shipped out a bad motherboard. A customer had built it himself and there was a short on the underside of the board. He had Fry's help him, they probably screwed up. Perhaps the board a fault. Either way, we send it in, they won't honor warranty b/c of the short, fine, so we pay for a replacement. They ship us back the dead board. FAIL.

Asus basically has no support. Don't buy them unless their product is the only one that will work for you. Just my 2 cents.

I sent in a motherboard and they sent back the same motherboard with bent corners and scratches. Good thing I read about how often that happens so I took photos of the motherboard before I sent it to them with the date and RMA #. Their advanced RMA process is much better.

 

Edit:

 

I learned that with electronics, it's always good to have a backup. It took 2 weeks for my XFX PSU RMA and it taking 2 months for my XFX GPU RMA.

 

Double Edit:

I had to RMA my ASUS M4A79XTD EVO too. It took over a month.

well the rep i talked to said that i was getting an advance rma. i didnt have the money to cover that (420 dollars) so she said she would give me a prepaid label, all i had to do was notify her that the board had been shipped, and then they would immediately ship me a board back. i've tried contacting the rep twice now with no answer.

I thought they would only charge you $420 if you don't end up sending the motherboard. I don't think they charge you and then refund you. They might just have a pending charge to test if the CC has enough credit.

Yeah exactly. I fell on some hard times back then and my CC racked up. paying it off now though.

I wonder if they're worse than DFI was. They were really awful as well.

Not to be frank, did Asus reputation really gone down lately? They used to be top in customer support and now today more and more issue with their services + their faulty GPU cooling. At least their boards are still excellent.

I was just going to buy a Maximus V Gene Z77 but after reading this thread I'm having second thoughts... may get the ASRock Extreme6 Z77 instead just to avoid Asus. I haven't had problems with Asus boards before but that's not to say I never will, for me how well a company treats it's customers is as important as the quality of the product and Asus for one have no excuse for being such a large company. thumb.gif
