Probably enough to buy a GTX580. Probably not a 3GB version, but enough for a 1.5gb.

Edit: For some reason, 5970s seems to hold their value alot on Failbay. Infact, their going for more then the Diamond 5970 on newegg...... Add 80 for the 5830 and would probably make out pretty well.

I didn't get as many points as last month but that's what happens when you Fold with an 8core for one F@T and won't have access to same 8core the rest of the year. It's to be espected. biggrin.gif

PPD should increase for next F@T soon as I get 1055 intalled in a couple weeks. happysmiley.gif

Nah, my 460 average 15k on the sweet WUs (80xx) and tops at 16.4k on the 8019, running 880MHz so not a massive OC. I'd say a 560Ti as the sweet spot for GPU folding nowadays, the GF110 cards cost more than what they bring in PPD, 460 is nice too as long as you find it at a decent price and go for the 768MB variant.

A 560Ti and your 860 at -smp 8 should bring a nice PPD jump, 21k on good WU on the 560Ti (15k on nastier) and 10-20k on the 860 (depending on clock and WU).

Wow, I am very surprise that I made it through this Foldathon with only one crash since I just reinstalled my PC and redo all the overclock without much time to do endurance tests.

The heat is coming and I am not talking about the team. I think that is the number one reason why the points is getting lower, as I my self have stop folding 24/7 for the same reason. ph34r-smiley.gif

Good info. cheers.gif My impression was that a regular 560 would perform about the same as a 460 if they were clocked the same since they have similar configurations (336 SPs)? headscratch.gif

I didn't think about the 560Ti though. thumb.gif

And I can't quite reliably pull 15k PPD on my 460 since it isn't Folding stable @ 880 MHz with stock voltage, I have to run it around 850 MHz. Runs fine in BOINC at 880 though. rolleyes.gif
post #450 of 511
The 460 and 560 Vanilla should perform similar if they run the same clock, ~same architecture and equal amount of CUDA cores. However the GF11x seems to clock better than the GF10x and the 560 runs a higher stock clock (810MHz) than the 460 (675MHz), my 560Ti can reach 980MHz reliable so I'd guess there wouldn't be much of a problem pushing the 560 to that or over.

My 460 do run max voltage (1.087V) to reach those speeds, but runs cool enough for me on all WUs.
