Help with my OC

Thread Starter
I'm trying to push my machine to 4.2GHz and optimize my RAM usage and clock. This is my hardware and my current sticking point.

Mobo: MSI-X58M 7593v3.6
CPU: i7 960
CPU Cooler: Corsair H-70 (push/pull intake)
RAM: 12GB Patriot Sector 7 DDR3-1333MHz
GPU: EVGA GTX 550 Ti 2048MB
PS: Kingwin 850W
SSD: Kingston 64GB
HDD: WD Caviar .5 T

I was able to get up to 220 base clock with a 1.25V QPI, all other voltages set to auto. I tried to go up higher in both freq and volts no matter if it was +1 MHz or a +0.05V, I kept getting "BAD OC" during POST.

So I reset BIOS to try it another way. I was only able to get to 160 base clock with 1.20 QPI and 1.1 ICH. When I went up to 170 my machine wouldn't even POST. I had to jumper reset it.

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Mine runs a 25x multiplier at 1600 MHz
CPU is at 1.32 V
QPI 1.375 V
CPUPLL 1.80 V
ICH 1.1 V
IOH 1.12 V
ICHPCI-E 1.5 V
IOHPCI-E 1.5 V

Asus P6T7 WS Revo. i7-960 @ 4GHZ

HTH

dunx

P.S. This runs 100% load 24/7, but at 4.2 I had random crashes, so just wound the settings back a bit!

Thanks.. I figured out my problem was with my RAM clock. It's 1333 RAM and my IMC doesn't support 1333, so I had to make different adjustments to base clock and ratios. It's running good now except for those random beeps from my other post.

I'm not really sure of my voltages. I've got my DRAMv at 1.65 and my QPI at 1.36 (this is where is was @ Auto).
