Would this work?

For my next build I was planning on water cooling a Silverstone FT02B-W (540mm Rad), Given the highest CFM I could find on a 180mm fan was 150 cfm (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835220035) I Was Wondering if A cluster of 12 90mm fans(URL=http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835132021) could be used to replace the 3 180mm's? Given how some Rad setups (like Hexa's) use fans in a similar configuration, The idea seems plausible in my mind. The only problem I can think of be noise, however the extra CFM (936 vs 450) seems worth it. Any thoughts?

Im not sure it would be worth doing. The Rad itself will provide a lot of cooling capabilty so three 180mm will be plenty. Depending on the RAD used and how dense the fins are, static pressure is more important than CFM.

How would you attach 12 fans securely and you are right they would create a fair bit of noise.

Check out this video of a FT02 and 540mm RAD. It looks and performs great.

Three 180's will be plenty even with OC's. That, and imagine the mess of wires at the bottom of the case with twelve 90mm fans... rolleyes.gif
