The high heat comes from the small suface area of the actual chip (beign a smaller manufacturing process is harder to transfer heat from the actual chip to the cooler). I think these kind of temp will be normal of IB. This issue is beign know for a couple of months already (from the engineering samples)

"100C not uncommon" . .. LOL.

I'll so stick with 1155 and just deal with the few second hit in benchmarks...

I never knew Bulldozer gimped SSDs so badly before either.
The H100 is a really crappy water cooling kit. it doesn't do any better than a Silver Arrow or NH-D14 and is more than twice as loud too.

Yes, the performance itself is somewhat the same. But it is nowhere near twice as loud ... quieter that is -.-

I think the new transistor model for them is introducing a lot of cooling problems which is why the temps are skyrocketing. The CPU can't transfer heat away from its components because of the odd transistor shape.

Performance wise, IB is barely better. But I was really wanting to get IB for power consumption and low heat, but apparently now it only has one of those. I'll get SB with and IB board for now until they find a way around this.

We need even more info, but I am kinda going to stick with my i5-2500k. This doesn't seems like it will bring me something to make me want it really bad.

Realistically, for 99% of all users at the moment, no.

Tri display and the like, yeah.

The 1920x1080 difference is within margin of error and improvements due to the new chipset.
The tri-display 5760x1080 difference is indeed caused by the pcie2 bottlenecking.
