Hey everyone,

Keep this simple...

Q1)
My rig has cables running across the top of the MB I tried to run them behind the MB but some cables are to short hence me running them on top. WHY do I have this problem?

(New PSU??)

-photos coming soon

Q2)
What is the best way to improve performance?

My basic system information is as follows;

AMD HDT45TWFGRBOX Phenom II X6 1045T Processor
Six Core, 6MB L3 Cache, 3MB L2 Cache, 2.70GHz, Socket AM3, 95W, Fan, Retail

BIOSTAR TA890FXE
Socket AM3 AMD 890FX + SB850 Chipset
Dual Channel DDR3 1800(OC)/1600(OC)/1333/1066/800 MHz 4x PCI-E x16 2.0 Slots Gigabit Lan 8-Channel HD Audio 5x SATA3 6Gb/s 9x USB 2.0 Ports ATX

Corsair XMS3 Dominator 4GB (2x2GB)
DDR3 1600MHz CL8 DIMMs, w/DHX BEMP Support, Optimized for AMD Phenom II (CMP4GX3M2B1600C8)

(02) XFX Radeon HD 5770 1GB GDDR5

XFX P1650SNLB9 Core Edition Power Supply 650W, 80 Plus Bronze, 135mm Fan, Active PFC, Single +12V Rail

Western Digital Caviar Green (WD20EARX) 2TB SATA3 6Gb/s 64MB (OEM)

Windows 7-64Bit

Q3)
What can I do to improve/over clock my (Radeon HD 5770)?

I've tried to over clock the video cards but with only a 5% change.

In conclusion:

To buy a matching set of Corsair XMS3 to make it 8GB of Ram hoping this may improve performance during high resolution game play.

My objective to this build was to have the ability to upgrade the video card and ram down the road.

Q1) I don't really know what you mean. Your cables are probably just short.

Q2) It depends whether you want performance in games or system performance. I'd recommend going for a cheap 64GB SSD and putting your OS there. You will notice a major improvement in system boot times and responsiveness. But that won't help with games at all.

Q3) OC doesn't generaly improve the card by God-knows-how-much. You can try messing around with RivaTuner. It is a powerful tool, but it's easy to break something with it.

And about that RAM you want to add - what's the resolution you're playing at? But anyway, RAM is cheap nowadays and you can't go wrong with having 8GB

Finger just about said everything I was going to. Some of your questions are confusing without pictures.

Q2 However - I would first go about tweaking your install and defragmenting your HDDs (non ssd). There is a good guide on how to tweak a new Win 7 install on this forum, and I suggest finding it. This guide is a very good starting point. After that I would consider 8 GB of memory and a nice SSD.

@finger00 -
Q1) Dont worry about it, i am only worried about the "cosmedic looks" of the pc.
Q2) Windows States that my HDD is only a 5.4 score. I think i may follow up on that upgrade.
Q3) Doing more resuech.

I am playing at MAX trying to get the best FPS. I think i have lots of viedo lag is due to the ram. Im going to upgrade another 2 sticks.

@PeteJM
