Will pay $$ for overclocking help

Thread Starter
My Rig

AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2800+512 RAM
NVIDIA Gforce 5700le 256mb
Sound card unknown was a gift that cost 30ish bucks
Motherboard unknown

I present a challenge that may have money and pride up for grabs. I will pay (via pay pal) the person with the best plan on how to completely dedicate every single ounce of resource my computer has for the soul purpose of playing one hour and a half counter strike match. I am will to clean out the entire computer and turn it all into virtual memory. Willing to over clock hardware to the point of no return…Willing to jimmy rig anything…ghetto style….What ever ideas you have for the computer to make it into one lean mean counter strike source ghetto fighting machine I will do anything….computer safety, or risk is not an issue….All the computer must do is be able to consistently play counter strike source for an hour and a half…I will also pay for a autoexec configs to go along with the custom setup.

you don't need to pay anyone anything... this is a community site... we offer help without expectations of returns...

And as for the overclocking, if you bother to learn the basics, its not too difficult... just overclock the 2800+ it as high as it will while still stable, overclock the video card, and maybe tighten the timings... keep them cool, get some extra fans...keep the side panel off... voila, you have a slightly higher performing rig....

as far as your willingness to kill your rig for an hour and a half of CS:S glory, forget about it.... you'll run into serious instability issues before you can even push it to the point of burning up... there is no such thing as "sacrifing components for perfomance"

overclocking (which goes hand in hand with performance) presents hazards
THE CONVERSE IS NOT TRUE
You cannot dilebaretly present hazards and expect performance boosts
so get that thought out of your head and spend the time you have before the tourney or lan party improving your hand eye coordination
