Building my first Intel rig. All other stuff has been AMD. If it works, I'm in.

Heres what I see here though:

Techies with tons of factual, well thought out logical information on "why".......

Then theres that one dude with all the "but what about this?....." "But but......"

Reminds me of the Ford vs Chevy battles and all those poor souls who would defend to their dying breath the merits of the garbage 4.6 2v modular Mustang GT engine against GMs world beating LSx series.

The reason BD did not deliver i think its has more to do with slow internal memory and the jump to 32nm.

Why bother defending your purchase? Just be happy with what you have and ignore the haters. If you need the performance, just upgrade, simple as that. This thread was an interesting read nonetheless.

Off-topic: @MiyukiChan and Projector, if this was an anime, you two would be all over each other by now. I almost feel the sexual tension in your posts... almost.

Lets close this thread. and delete it since it is it becomming apparent that the whole point was lost.
Only 1% was actually interested in the technical aspect of it, but hey maybe there is a forum for guys like me that love technology. and know what an oscilloscope is. (not asking if you know how you use one lol)

I starting to see that there are alot of those that are impressed by how much they spend and bragging rights. That is fine. and i applaud them for their efforts.
but guys like me that make their living building computers look for more important things like stability value and Longevity. and cater to the people that cant afford a monster rig or in fact will even use it.

I will save my questions from now on til i fine some people that actually know what a logic gate is and what it has to do with computers(go ahead and google it) and understands how it translates to bits and computers.

It is totally my fault in my naming of this thread, it was not my intention to create another intel vs AMD thread.
so delete this and lets move on to something useful.

No, instead you should really think about using the search function and reading before starting the same topic that's been discussed on OCN ad nausem, which generally only ever results in flaming. Or at least post something like this in the off-topic section if you insist on beating a dead horse.

Latin does not make you smarter. and neither does not reading the OP.
I am sorry to everyone here that doesn't not understand how a CPU works, Hell i took a college class on Mechanical theory and i still mess things up.
And that was the point of my post. was merely asking if someone with a better system than i could try the other route and underclock.

and Guy, why not post something original and useful.
and you talk about beating dead horses...if you want you want a forum full of guys like you, you are well on your way to get it.
this forum has no use for an idiot like me that uses an amprobe and an inferred temp reader when i think something is overheating.
lets just pay someone a few hundred bucks to figure it out for us. or wait for someone else to do something about it.

and nice Middle-of-the-road system. its good to see another Intel lover in here without anything useful to add,
and i Do Own an i5 2500k, its in a touch screen dell. but for the price i should have got a mac.
And i did find a few posts about Instruction sets, but nothing about anyone that actually tried it.

That's like the pot calling the kettle black. All you had to do was search for topics previously discussed. Nothing asked or addressed in your original first post was different from anything that has been discussed one hundred times over in dozens of threads on OCN since BD was released.

Not that it matters, but the only reason I got my 2500k was because Microcenter was selling it at a significant discount. I don't even overclock it. I am CPU-agnostic. I have an fx-6100 in my second rig at home, and another AMD in my laptop. I'm not so quick to call fanboy that I assume if someone has an intel CPU in their system that they must love intel. I don't. In fact, I don't really care much what I use as long as it's in my price range. thumb.gif
