I've got 2 different kinds of xspc the high flex stuff, promochill (though I heard it wouldn't) and some feaser company stuff. All is to big for the fittings. I've got 3 random fittings from koolance, bitspower and enzo and they all work on all the tubing...... I've never wanted to smash anything with a hammer as bad as I want to smash these CF's lol. I ordered them from the US and returning them will be as much as I paid for them because of shipping. I even tried the fittings on my H220's tubing and they don't even fit on it!!!!! now I got all my gear here and I have to wait at least a week since no place sells that kinda stuff in my area....... urgh!!!

I looked at my few different fittings, with the swiftech, the opening between the barb and the screw on part are about 1/3 smaller than any of the other ones. All the other fittings work perfect. What a PITA!
Even without using pliers, the paint on the one I'm messing with has flaked off just from hand power.

I'm having the same issues as well.
Got mine on Friday and since then, I have been struggling with this damn thing with the same problems as you. At least it's not just me with this issue.
Returning is pita and costs more to return it and my build is just sitting there waiting to be finished.
Also, I don't know if this is due to Swiftech's manufacturing but there are a lot of small nicks/scratches which I was also really disappointed about.
I give up with this crap and will be going with either bitspower or koolance.
I'm glad performance pcs only had 4 as I was about to order 8 which would have been a disaster.

I ended up just throwing my 8 in the garbage lol. The paint on all 8 of mine were also very flaky and not very well done, it was coming off just hand turning them!. I've since completed my WC build using koolance straights and some bitspower 45's and 90's. The quality of the koolance and bits are head and shoulders over these. I tightened my koolance ones with a wrench and pliers and the black didn't even nick.
My only other swiftech products are the 2 x h220's I had and they were pretty good for what they were. Although one of the pwm splitters crapped out and no one answers my pm's to get a new one.... A well, no more swiftech stuff for me.

I've using these fittings for several builds, and was able to keep them in much better shape that equivalent use of another fitting. But black paint is black paint: rub a blunt object on it, and it will scratch. Nonetheless, using a tool on an hex nut as opposed to using a pair of pliers against a diamond knurled surface is no contest :-). The bottom line is this: with other fittings, you have to be extra-ordinarily careful not to damage them (actually close to impossibe to me based on how I use them... of course if you just tighten them by hand, it is a dfferent story, but you know my stance on hand-tight by now..)

As to the chrome finish, it is much stronger than any paint, so it will resist scratching even more.

You'd be quite surprised as to how hard you can actually tighten with hand wearing a rubber glove.....I did some fittings that tight by hand that I needed a spanner to undo them...also taking into consideration that the o ring also amalgamates to some degree into the new shape that also adds a tightening force to.....

I have tightened some by hand so tight (stupid me) that it distorted the o ring to the point it came out from the little seating recess and the edges of the fitting cut the o ring... I really don't know how much tighter you could possible want..
