Antec Kuhler 620 Rattling Issues - Are there Antec Reps Here? - Page 2

I would run the pump on a fan controller, or regulate voltage from the motherboard. Reduce the speed in tiny increments and observe the effect. Try it with the pump in its normal orientation as well.

I would try that but it's a pump. All of the corsair hydro series pumps have no problems and the entire idea of a closed loop system is simplicity and low cost. A basic fan controller is pretty cheap but trying to undervolt a pump sounds like kind of a bad idea. The rattling noise is all about impeller orientation and the hydrodynamic forces inside the pump pushing the impeller around. Its a good idea but most closed loop pumps like that regulate power input to the pump so it's as close to what the default amount is all the time.
Good idea but power really isn't the root of this problem.

A lot folks have resolved their crunchy noise issues by reducing their pump speed by just a couple of 0.10v's, and not just on these particular CLC's.

I wasn't referring to voltage regulation like you would have with a noisy fan---more like addressing resonant vibration and/or air bubbles, where tiny changes are supposed to make a lot of difference.

Awesome, I guess I'll just solder in a small resistor to the 3 pin wire to the antec Kuhler 620.
Thanks for experimenting, it's nice to finally have some solution to this problem.

Update:
-Shipped April 18 via Parcel Mail w/ Delivery Confirmation.
-Arrived April 23rd
-Received call on April 25th regarding follow-up, Antec rep called back at around 4:00PST, which was a surprise as they say they close at 3PST.. Interesting.. rolleyes.gif
-Says all has been received, and a new one will be dispatched out to me ASAP. Most likely the following afternoon, so..
-Shipped out April 26 @ evening, from Antec RMA.
-Received home on April 30th, evening.

It seems everything comes at the worst times.
I am studying for my AP exams (Computer Science), so ripping apart my main rig [Don't want to use my MacBook for school work.. too lazy to dust 'er off] and testing the new Kuhler.
Will probably end up doing it before the end of next week.

All in all, took about a week and a half to get it replaced, and was very painless.
