Jeez, I'm feeling stupid now, but when I look in "Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs", all I see is "NVIDIA Drivers", which would be my vid card drivers??? I don't see anything labeled "nForce" or "Asus" or anything like that.

What am I supposed to remove?

Christ, why can't they make this crap automatic, heheh.

Don't worry mate i was like "well where the hell have they gone?!"

Click on nVidia's change/remove button, a box will appear with what you would like to remove.

There should be:

Remove all nVidias drivers
Remove all nVidias drivers except display (sometimes this is blanked out, but you want this one)
Remove only the following: (click this if the option above is blank), then untick the first (display driver) and leave the other 2 ticked.

Click OK

Cheers man!

Thanks a bunch for the patient help. I'm gonna give it a whirl later on. Hopefully, I still have a working computer when done, LOL.

Heya Cokker,

I think I got the chipset updated OK. How could I confirm? Here's a screenshot. Is there any more places to look?

Also, there were a couple of things that I did not allow it to install; one was a IDE driver, I was worried it might crash my system. The other thing I did NOT install was nForce Network Manager. Am I ok with that?

thanks man

SCREWED!

I thought I had the chipset drivers all updated, so I used the Asus easy update and updated the BIOS, and now my comp won't start. Is there any way to revert back to old BIOS, using setup?
