The build is finally up and running, I seem to have an issue with DIMM slot 7 and 8 on this board though, can't boot with a DIMM in either of those slots which is why in these pictures below, I have a DIMM that isn't in a red slot (so no quad channel support on CPU0).

Sure am! Thanks for the kind words!

Old build used to do just under 100K, this one should be able to do a bit more than in that screenshot, I just need to boost the voltage on 2 of my GTX 560 Ti's so I can take all 3 of them back to their usual 950mhz core instead of 900mhz.

CPU's are turbo boosted to 2.6Ghz but there's very little OC'ing possible on E5 Xeons as of right now.

GTX 580 always sits at 825 core

and the 560 Ti's sit at 950 core - just need to sort out the voltages ot get them back up there again.

im not an expert on xeons why are they not ocable? not unlocked or whatever like k models of other chips? are xeons alot faster than i7's ?

This series of Xeons are locked down pretty tightly, you can only really play on the BCLK but not by much frown.gif The LGA1366 Xeons had quite a bit of play in them. Depends how much you spend on your Xeons, for gaming, you can easily get fooled into thinking your Xeons will be faster but in the end if each core has a slower clock speed than a decent i7 its actually performing worse due to the fact that games dont utilise many cores.

Many thanks smile.gif I need to get myself a new lens for this camera for close-ups, at the moment i'm using a 1988 Nikkor.... smile.gif

Anyway, I solved the issue with teh USB3 front header, wasjust me being a fool and plugging the card reader into the extension cable the wrong way around!

Still get the b7 error code on boot up with memory in DIMM slot 7 and DIMM slot 8 so either those 2 DIMM slots are DOA or there's a BIOS tweak to be made there.
