How do you overclock 7970 beyond 1200mhz?

As the title says i would like to know how to overclock my gigabyte 7970 oc beyond the apparent max of 1200mhz in afterburner.

Try using another utillity, otherwise I believe you have to manually do it somehow..

Forgot to also add that when i unlock unofficial overclocking in msi afterburner the settings do not save when i adjust the clocks

It's because the needed files for unofficial OC are gone check out the 7950/7970 thread, probably get more help there.

open afterburn with the -xcl command..then restart your computer...be sure to have the unnofficial overclock disable...after you restart remove the command and start afterburn...that will make you past 1200 mhz..also you can flash your bios with the asus with the unlocked clocks

right click on shortcut of msi afterburner and add -xcl in the end.then start it it should tell you to restart your pc. Then when your pc restart reopen the shortcut of your AB and remove the -xcl command and then start AB
