The i5s are weak? What are you on? The 2500k is the 3rd (after 39xx and 2(6/7)ook) best cpu is the world. For gaming it is almost even to the i7s. While i get all your points, that one is just wrong.

Lol.... from what I can garner from his rig it seems he went and bought a pre-built from some shop and spent a good amount of dough on it. It's the only reason I can think of that would make him reply in such a defensive fashion. Where I live all the PC shops market on the fact that the system has a i7/i5 and 16GB of low freq RAM to sell off old stock for the rest of the computer.

Either that hes an epic Troll

As a honest response the system is fine apart from the gfx card, upgrade that to a 560ti upwards and it would be fine (570, 580, 680, 6950/70, 7870, 7950 etc). Theres not much you can do unless you resell the i7 and break even, then buy a 2500k and use the remainder on a better gfx card(sell the 550). You can even get rid of half of that 16GB of RAM since it isent needed and if my previous assumption was right then the OEM would have put in 4x4GB sticks in, lessen the load on the imc= better OC iirc. There is no significant difference in what a i5 2500k and a i7 2600k can do in terms of gaming, not enough to warrant getting the 2600k.

You wanted it to be ranked and its fine as it is but with ranking also comes suggstions on improvement. Don't just flog the responses without evidence.

Haha, I think most of you guys are being a little hard on most of his picks. Yeah the GPU is a little weak for 1080p gaming, he's gonna have to turn some quality settings down but the rest is decent. That PSU will do the job for that build, and the case is matter of personal preference.

I'll be interested to see if he can get 5ghz on the H60 with acceptable temps.

Now that you mention it, I have heard that some Best Buys are closing soon and they are starting to offer some stellar deals. I know that the BB in my town is closing in a month. I'm hoping for some sweet deals myself. I was very surprised to see a Solid State Drive during my visit today, and an Intel 520 series. Only marked up $40 compared to Newegg.

Anyways, he clearly accomplished whatever it is that he came here for. Let's move on.

Oh, I see. There seems to have been some really small fine print under the OP's thread title.

What I really mean, is say nothing but nice things to validate my purchase and tell me how amazing I am at building PC's and how you're all like ants in comparison.

Started laughing like crazy after he said "I only put good parts into this."

7/10 for the troll. People caught on a bit too early for my liking, though.

the 2500k is by no means weak compared to the i7, I don't think you even know anything about the hardware you purchased.
You had no reason to buy the i7, multitasking doesn't justify it as the 2500k overclocked can multi task fine, it is a powerful quad core after all.
the only thing you need an i7 for is actual multithreaded programs and encoding, other than that you threw your money away.
1/10 because of your pathetic reassons for wanting the i7.

listen dude.
It's not you're money. its mine.
I'll get what best fits my needs.
I work with java a lot. and that really uses a lot of cores
