Going for custom water cooling. Need advice.... - Page 2

Well, lemme think about this...

three blocks for around $250
pump and res were around $200
three rads were around $200
miscellaneous stuff (tubing, fans, indigo xtreme, quick disconnects, misc screws and hardware) another $150 probably...
special ordered fittings from BP were about $400

I definitely went premium on the fittings and res but I stand corrected, seems it was a lot closer to $1000 for cooling, although this doesn't count $150 spent in the star-crossed OCN group buy for a dozen Gentle Typhoon 2150's which haven't arrived yet. I also plan on custom sleeving my cables in the near future so that might be another $100.

I'm sorry but 1500 dollars on a custom loop is just idiotic redface.gif

I'm cooling my 930 and gtx480 with a 480mm rad and I spent less than 300$ on my whole loop.

BTW, 1.5 tons isn't its weight but its cooling capacity. Anyways now that you do mention it, i think the ac is faulty. 30 C with ac on is kind of high. Getting it repaired tomorrow. thumb.gif But this doesn't mean that i am giving up water cooling. smile.gif Wow, this proves that something good always comes out of anything. A faulty ac pushed me into the world of wc and now, i am not going back. biggrin.gif

I'm sure you've seen some of the upper end builds here, they truly make your jaw drop and mine is really kind of average for a full custom loop IMO. Just to repeat, I was wrong about $1500 it was closer to $1100 and if I didn't get a few premium items that would've been more like $850 or probably less.

30C is a bit more understandable but all the more reason to think your AC is broken. Here in the US they rate AC units by BTU so I'm not familiar with that terminology...

I am definitely very pleased with my setup, it performs great and looks great, and my rig involved a little bit of minor case modding to fit everything where I wanted it to go so it was/is a satisfying hobby as well thumb.gif

Whether it's for you or not is not for me to say but you are here and seem interested so I think it's too late, you are already hooked biggrin.gif Judging by your description of your media gear you're not afraid to spend money on technology either tongue.gif

Not really lol sorry bout that, but my wallet hurts when I see people pay so much for something that can be done for much cheeper while still maintaining good temps. Albeit my 40$ diy case and loop defiantly dosnt look as nice as most peoples computers on here.

Maybe somewhere ranging from 200-600 , depending on what you are cooling, and if you want fancy parts or cheap but effective parts
although I don't know how much shipping costs or taxes would be in india
actually, If you said 900 in your currency, it may be different from 200-600 USD, or the same

No, its 900 in USD including taxes, shipping etc. I think its way too much. I will see if i can get a cheaper custom setup for just the cpu and then upgrade to gpu later. Some very high end setups may cost $1000-1500 but i am not trying to break any world record here, so i am not going to spend that much. Anyways, thanks everyone for pitching in.

Nobody ever said watercooling was inexpensive, my friend. And I wasn't bragging, $1500 was an honest top-of-my-head guess which turns out was over by a few hundred for my particular loop. If you surf through some of the build logs here, you will see some truly incredible beautiful builds where people have spent much more than that. $1500 is a pretty reasonable estimate for a high end full custom loop if you consider multiple GPU blocks, multiple radiators, compression and angled fittings, premium bay reservoir and pumps, motherboard and RAM blocks, specialized system cases, etc. etc. etc. You don't have to spend that much but that's what it costs to go full hog.

And BTW when you post ALL CAPS and it's obvious you haven't read the entire thread, otheres think u r an idiot.
