Asus g74sx BBK8 screen replacement

Hey everyone, my first post here on OCN, and I just had a few quick questions.

I have a Asus G74sx BBK8 that I dropped a few days ago and broke the screen on. I was just wanting to know if I had to replace the screen with the same one it had in it, or can I upgrade it from a 1600x900 to a 1920x1080 screen? I ask this because I know my model comes in 1600x900, 1920x1080, and a 1920x1080 3D versions.

If it is possible to upgrade, how would I go about finding the model number for the 1920x1080 screen that would work?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You could most likely upgrade it to the better screen, assuming everything is the same (mounting points, screw holes, etc).

You could find one on Ebay or order one for Asus.
