Looking for a new Cpu cooler

Thread Starter
Hey so currently I have a Cooler Master V8 on my i5 2500k at 4.8 1.425v load temps on prime95 around 85c, I was planning on going WC but have decided to stay simple. I am wondering if anyone has suggestions on a new cooler, currently I'm looking at these http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/category/category_slc.asp?page=7&Nav=|c:493|&Sort=3&Recs=10, http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835106186, http://www.ncix.ca/products/?sku=66277&vpn=BXRTS2011LC&manufacture=Intel, http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1704998&CatId=493. Will any of these be an improvement?

I had the V8 great cooler HUGE tho ha. But id say if your looking for something in the WC area go for a corsair H series.. Depending on your case id go for a H100 and call it a day.. Price isnt to bad now Check it out.

not bad man, Also Ruined if your a n00b to WC the H100 would be perfect for starters/beginners then you could go for a custom WC setup. thumb.gif

Yeah man get the H100 you wont regret it. I had a 240 rasa loop before my H100 and switched because a Pump died on me and I had multiple problems and it was just a big headache and my temps honestly arent that much different from the custom loop

You cant use the H100 in that case, no mounting for it.

I would get the Cooler Master TPC 812, be at $70 and perform better than those heatsink you linked.

H80 would only run 2-4 degrees warmer. lol I know it seems like we are pushing the corsair coolers on you super hard but in my experience its the best cooling short of a custom water loop

Wont be for long. Coolermaster is coming out with a real watercooling kit, prebuilt and filled to perform like a WC kit.
Single, dual and later on triple rad size. Pump/reservoir will be on the CPU socket, just like the H80/H100.
But price will be higher of course.
